VEXNEWS can exclusively reveal Liberal state MP for Frankston Geoff Shaw is believed to have a serious regulatory issue related to a series of home disturbances that might prevent him from continuing as an MP.
While we cannot as yet confirm details, VEXNEWS has learned Frankston Police are involved.
There have been wild rumours about the MP and one of his female parliamentary colleagues also. Shaw is a married father of four who was recently flamed by The Age for what they alleged were homophobic remarks to a constituent.
The Baillieu government has a majority of one in the Legislative Assembly. If Shaw was to resign or be unable to serve, Victorian politics would enter a grave era of instability.
UPDATE: In a wild and rollicking day or rumour, innuendo and intrigue surrounding the member for Frankston that was triggered by VEXNEWS’ exclusive report, government advisers insist they’ll be able to trade through this storm because Shaw and his family are committed to working things out. They say that issues about Shaw’s conduct are not being raised from the family but by others.
However, VEXNEWS has learned that Shaw has moved out of the marital home. And perhaps most ominously, there are also unconfirmed suggestions rocking 1 Treasury Place that Mr Shaw has a previous conviction in an assault matter from the early 1990s when he was a bouncer in the notoriously tough Frankston precinct.
