RUEHL RULES: Fin Review columnist slays greedy retail barons

As Peter Costello said at the time, the wider the base, the lower the rate. The narrower the base, the higher the rate. With this Govt addicted to spending, get ready for tax increases elsewhere. This is no victory whatsoever.

Can explain why Terry McCrann wrote a piece on the folly of the Harvey/Brookes/Lew campaign without mentioning Solly Lew? Lew and Brookes are the people who are losing trade to net shopping. Harvey has little to fear. Yet McCrann writes as if the whole thing was dreamed up by Myer and Harvey Norman.
