The excellent IPA daily email is well worth getting Today they claim to have identified the source of the “Moving Forward” slogan (alien invaders seeking office in a Simpson’s episode) and have revealed that the same cranes used in Labor’s TV ads as a symbol of prosperity are owned by Patrick’s, the company viciously attacked by Labor for shafting the radical Maritime Union of Australia back in the early days of the Howard era.

Julia Gillard called the company “dogs” in an angry speech in Parliament which I think is criminal slang for Police informer. Not the best look, looking back.

Meanwhile, the AWU which had such a good run with its Abbott Family video depicting the Liberals as various comedy horror TV show characters has had to withdraw the highly successful viral ad. A shame.

  1. The lifting of The Simpsons’ ‘Move Forward’ slogan by Julia Gillard was first reported on The Orstrahyun, July 12 :

I think the AWU pulled that advert in shame after it was revealed that the Liberal Students Federation (ALSF) did the Keating Family 20 years ago, complete with Hawke’s head on the floor. Its all over facebook. Like Gillard the Unions don’t have ANY new ideas.
