MEXICAN INVADERS: Police called in over Donnelly gate crashing at NUW Queensland

A patriot informant from the north writes about the most recent developments within the National Union of Workers whose Melbourne based national office is determined to forcibly merge the union’s WA, SA and Queenland branches:

The Queensland Branch of the NUW had a Delegates training day yesterday at Trades & Labour Council building in Peel Street. At about 1030 am, Charlie Donnelly, Tim Kennedy and another NUW National Office official named Clayton Larkin arrived uninvited and demanded to speak to the 100 or so union delegates.The request was put to a vote among the delegates and Charlie and Co were told politely they were not welcome.

Not respecting the wishes of the delegates, Charlie lost it and he and his gate-crashers tried to push their way in to the room to hand out NUW ballot propaganda. Things got so unpleasant that police were called to remove Charlie and his boys from the training session.

The police arrived to crowd control the rabid Victorians, in full view of unionists from other outfits as well and Queensland ALP officers. What was particularly unsavoury was an irate Charlie Donnelly hurling abuse and his cohorts sending not-so-nice text messages to some of the delegates inside.

Added to Charlie’s woes is the fact that his own camp is starting to question the whole ballot. Some Victorian NUW officials have been contacting their interstate colleagues voicing disapproval of the whole idea and of Charlie’s dogmatic style.
